My biography - Ma biographie

Image

My academic background is in the Earth Sciences, mainly in the fields of physical geography, Quaternary geology, paleolimnology and paleoceanography. I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geography with a minor in Biological Sciences (University of Calgary), a Master degree in Biology (Queen's University, Kingston), and a doctorate in Geography (Université Laval, Québec).

I have worked for the Geological Survey of Canada as a support geologist, McGill University as a sessional lecturer, and most recently I was professor in the Département des Sciences Humaines at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC). I recently chose to leave research in order to concentrate on editing and specifically the editing of scientific manuscripts.

As lead or co-author of a dozen peer-reviewed papers in international journals, I am aware of the level and precision of writing required for submission to international level science publications. Having directed and co-directed a number of graduate students, I have experience with ensuring that scientific results are presented in a clear and concise fashion. I have also been a peer-reviewer for numerous scientific journals including: Journal of Paleolimnology; The Holocene; Géographie physique et Quaternaire; Arctic, Antarctic and Alpine Research; Limnology and Oceanography: Methods; Lake and Reservoir Management; Diatom Research; Marine Micropaleontology; Continental Shelf Science; IOP Conference Series.

In order to ensure you receive the highest quality editing work, I am currently enrolled in the Editing Certificate program at Simon Fraser University. I am a member of the Editors' Association of Canada and I aim in the near-future to obtain formal certification from the Editors' Association of Canada.
